More DescriptionPRACTICE BOOK 1B: ESL Children's Curriculum, Second Edition in Black and White, From M to Z, is for ESL students under 7 years. This second set of ESL textbooks comprises three books, Student Book, Practice Book and Teacher's Guide and introduces the alphabet from M to Z. It has 31 pages and 14 ESL lessons. This ESL program introduces the children to printing between lines as each new letter is presented. The book is designed to provide the teacher with independent work for the students. Once the pages have been introduced the teacher has time to move about the room to help individuals or deal with other classroom needs. Students write, draw and color in the book. As the students progress, some children will learn to read the large print instructions while other will continue to rely on the teacher reading them orally.TYPES OF EXERCISES AND ACTIVITIES:- Each lesson has two pages of exercises or activities.- Pictures of the key word(s) for the initial sound of the upper and lower case letters are displayed.- Children are introduced to and given practice in printing between lines.- Pictures for the initial sounds of the key words are included.- Large print directions tell the children what to do. The teacher explains these orally as most of the students are not reading at this point. - Large print drawing instructions encourage reading for those who are ready.- Small print teacher instructions appear on some pages.- Teachers have opportunities to add additional tasks for children who finish before the others.
