More DescriptionChronicles of a Romantic captures the life experience of a passionate soul over a fifty years period. This book will help you rediscover the lost art of poetry. Chronicles of a Romantic is a collection of poetic odes, soliloquies, free verse, and rhymed poetry which explore the intriguing topics of love, nature, life spirit, family and social/political issues. Stunning original black and white photographs from all over the world accompany many of the fifty-four poems included in this anthology. The writings are deeply personal to the author; influenced from life experiences of love gained, love lost, memories from childhood, world travels, recovery from a brain tumor, affirming faith, and the passing away of his only granddaughter. The author, Eric Von Jares, wrote his first poem at age fifteen, and became a lifelong fan of the written word. He has been published in several poetry anthologies over the years, and those poems are included in this - his first poetry book. This actual passion project developed many years to fruition. After attaining a graduate degree in business, Eric continued to publish poetry, magazine articles, and write screenplays. His work has appeared in such publications as Parents Magazine, the Southern Business Journal, and the Saturday Evening Post. He was contributing writer in the 1987 book Own Your Own Franchise. In 2013, he published his first eBook, Find the Work You Love: The 9-Step Job Search Breakthrough which has been revised and updated in 2020, and now available in paperback. Eric is an Ohio native and currently lives in Texas with his wife of nearly forty years. He enjoys baseball, photography, traveling, and visiting family throughout the United States especially Colorado.
