It is a large part of endocrine practice: many of the tumours are non-malignant, but have endocrine effects (eg. acromegaly) through hormone secretion. Even the jobbing endocrinologist outside an academic or referral centre could expect 80% of their work to involve endocrine oncology. The oncologist, on the other hand, is only likely to see endocrine reproductive, primarily gynaecological problems, about 30% of the workload. St. Bartholemew's is a world renowned centre: through its contacts and through the journal, it is proposed to develop a highly structured clinical and
