In 2010 after publishing "A Low Country Affair" and being overwhelmed by the reception, I began thinking of my next project and came up with the idea of a collection of recipes from people around the world. At that time I managed a recipe group on Facebook and perhaps the idea was spawned from that, or my membership in LinkedIn. Where ever the idea began, it lingered in my brain for quite a while. Finally upon starting a new job in late 2012, and knowing I would be gone from home in North Carolina for 3 weeks of training, I decided now was the time. I would start this project to take my mind off of being away from family, who were 2200 miles away. So began the call for recipes on LinkedIn food groups, Facebook, Family and Friends and within a few days the responses began coming in. From Ireland to Italy, Australia and across America, and Thailand to Timbucktoo, great people sent in great recipes. Many asked what the theme was and my response was always the same, Recipes from the Heart.
