He came home to the Blue Ridge for his grandfather's funeral and the reading of the will. To inherit, he has eight years to marry, and have a child. On the way back to the coast Conner and April's paths intersect in a snowstorm. He gets her to a motel, then after hearing her story takes her back to his house in the blue Ridge so she can pursue her dreams. Seven years later, she has her degree, a teaching job and Conner's six year old daughter, Conner is now a successful Author with four books out.
