This two-day review course is designed to prepare nurses working with critically ill patients to successfully pass the CCRN Certification Exam. The course provides participants with an overview of disease processes, treatments, and evidence-based practices used in caring for acute and critically ill patient populations. Using the nursing process, the course helps nurses to integrate expert knowledge into clinical practice. Taking this course will provide those taking the CCRN certification exam with information necessary for success.Objectives: At the end of the activity, participants will be able to:-Describe techniques and strategies for preparing for the CCRN Certification exam.-Incorporate the pathophysiology of various disease states into the nursing assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.-Identify outcome criteria and evaluative criteria used by nurses to determine effectiveness of nursing care in a critical care environment.-Outline the legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities inherent in being a Critical Care nurse caring for a variety of patients.
