More DescriptionA journey of cybersecurity post 2020 that was a year to learn to cope with many unprecedented changes in working and learning through telecommuting and distance-learning might benefit from the grim outlook of 2021's cybersecurity threat landscape as cyberterrorism is on the rise, and malware and ransomware are not going anywhere. Privacy and Internet of Things (IoT) cybersecurity have become a common area of concern that could impact organizations, necessitating greater vigilance against vulnerabilities and threats. This volume offers a review of my dissertation research on cybersecurity awareness that stems from information security in online communication, networks, risks of threats, and vulnerabilities.Schoolteachers use information systems (IS) to challenge children through competitive societal information-age education, promote achievement, prepare children for global competitiveness, and foster educational excellence through equal access to education, for all children (U.S. Department of Education, 2014). School resource officers (SRO) implement cybersecurity awareness to instill children's age-appropriate awareness against cyber-crimes and cyber-bullying, develop children's knowledge and awareness of web content, and ability to evaluate online information. The qualitative case study affirmed that information technologies help to facilitate efficiency in teaching instructions; and cybersecurity awareness plays a large role in an intertwined, cyberworld (Brady, 2010). The presence of information technologies continues to change demands on communication, which could impact children's lives (DeLeo, 2008). The majority of elementary schoolteachers, IT experts, and parents study participants favored children's critical thinking and awareness for judging Internet content. Elementary schoolteachers', IT experts', and parents' perceptions about supplementing cybersecurity knowledge and awareness into children's education presented mixed outcomes to infer a need for standardizing cybersecurity awareness instructions, to educate children in schools.
