The making of Yizkerbikher has been the functional equivalent of fulfilling the obligation of providing the dead with a decent burial.The Yizkerbukh created by Chonon Kiel was executed in watercolor, pastel, crayon, magic marker, pencil, and pen and ink. The recently discovered book was featured in an exhibition on the history of the Jews in Czenstochow that toured Poland, the United States, and Canada. It was also exhibited in Washington, D.C., under the Russell Senate Office Building rotunda.
