More DescriptionThis book presents a re-evaluation of Charles Darwin's theories regarding origin of all animal species now roaming the earth. Questioning Darwin may strike some as a rather esoteric, academic exercise, but in fact it focuses on a cornerstone of the wall our society has built between "science" and "faith". These essays confront the "incredible" gaps in Darwin's thesis, weaknesses we typically ignore in bowing to pressures of orthodoxy.
It seems necessary to avoid the label "intelligent design" as it comes with too much Biblical baggage, a distinct handicap in this secular world.
Note, the use of the label "God" is not intended to be necessarily a Judeo-Christian entity, but really can expand to encompass a power beyond our "natural" perception to discern; yet a force that may be consciously, and intentionally, shaping our world. Accepting possible existence of this power provides the diving board for most "leaps of faith." Those leaps carry a human mind into gardens of intuition that have nourished the arts in most societies throughout human history and inspired everything from poetry to bloody warfare. A severely diminished recognition of such a possible force in our extremely secular society has led some to label our era the "Spiritual Dark Ages."
