He blames his divorce on his own selfishness, not being able to leave behind his job long enough to spend time with his own family and friends. His wife, Rachel, finally decides to leave him realizing she is living with a man who is married to his job and not her.Chase soon finds out that he has an incurable form of brain cancer and is given just months to live. He has to come to terms with his terminal disease as he sets in motion his plan to provide for his family once he is gone. His plan to return to patrol and commit suicide by thug while on duty so his wife can collect on a 1.5 million dollar premium life insurance policy can be called nothing short of a Desperate Measure.His plan runs into a major snag when the captain of his division assigns him a new female police officer to train.
