More DescriptionOn the day of his seventeenth birthday, at midnight in an August, a young boy takes some blank papers, the pen given to him by his uncle Guzman, and begins writing. This short novel narrated in the first person, almost as a personal diary, is the intimate and lucid story of a teenager who observes the events around him with unusual maturity. His place in the family nucleus, the influence of the father figure, his longings and reflections, his memories, are succeeded and are manuscripts throughout a night awake, in his bedroom, in a silence that is complicit in inspiration. This novel is a reflection, in the mouth of its young protagonist, around universal themes such as the passage of time, family life, creativity, frustrated illusions, the becoming of the days, the meaning of our existence. Fernando Cobo (Madrid, 1975) Library science and Journalism university degree in Carlos III University of Madrid. He published his first novel at the age of 24 (Those Beach Days, Alba Editorial, 1999). Early in his creative vocation, he has collaborated with various media as an editor and literary critic, highlighting his time between 1999 and 2003 in the defunt culture magazine "Lateral". Although in his youth he wrote more than ten novels, his literary career was interrupted to make way for his other great passion: painting. For two decades now he has been professionally engaged in this artistic facet, being known for his hyper-realistic oil-painted urban landscapes.
