Sailing is the best sport in the world! When you race everything is really competitive and intense. It is a tactical sport, so it is like playing chess on water. When there is a lot of wind, it feels like you are in a battle. When there is a little wind, you tiptoe around the racecourse like a ninja. But it is more fun if you know how to compete.Don't be a marshmallow, be a hot dog! At our club, Atlanta Yacht Club, the grown up sailors call beginners marshmallows. They think they are hot dogs. The problem is when you ask them how to sail fast, one sailor will say one thing, then the next sailor will say the opposite. So we got together, asked around, did some research, thought about it, and wrote what we think are the top tips to stop being a marshmallow and start winning races, or at least start making those sailors look back!
