The plant and animal life they hold is being driven to extinction. "Direct Action" is the story of how a small, well-organized group of people on the island of Sumatra takes up arms to stop further deforestation. With help from a trio of Western supporters, the newly created rebel army wages war against the military-backed, multinational corporations destroying their land. Their objective is to reverse the proliferation of palm oil production, logging and pulp operations, and mining interests in a desperate effort to save the last remaining acres of rainforest on their island and throughout Indonesia.
