About 47.30 percent of the labour forces are employed in agriculture (Biological and Environmental Research, 2017). High population growth with declining death rate together with low growth in agricultural productivity adversely affects the living standard in the country. Economic development in Bangladesh cannot be achieved unless there is a breakthrough in the agricultural sector. Land is the basic resources of human society. Because of the rapid growth of population and indiscriminate destruction of forest, it is difficult to meet the huge demand for timber, fuel, food and fodder and maintaining ecological balance. Litchi cultivation is one of the most important income sources for small-scale farmers. However, increasing productivity and
