German description: Michael Brenner und Gideon Reuveni legen eine Aufsatzsammlung vor, die die Beziehung zwischen Judentum und Sport unter Berucksichtigung der besonderen europaisch-judischen Erfahrung zu verorten sucht. Ausgangspunkt ist die Annahme, dass die Art und Weise wie eine Gesellschaft sich zu Sport und Korper positioniert, etwas uber ihre Selbstdefinition aussagt. Die Autoren widmen sich den judischen Muskeln und Kraften, von Resh Lakish uber rabbinische Responsa aus dem 16. und 17.
