Millennium 2K is witnessing a sharp rise in level of stress for every man and women working in every walk of life and specifically those fields where professionals are facing rapid changing work conditions. Stress is a fact of everyday life - a fact you cannot deny. Though stress is affecting all walks of life but specifically the academic circles are severely affected by it. Study 'impact of stress on the faculty of private sector business institutions of Lahore city was designed with the objectives to identify the different stresses faced by the faculty of private sector business institutions of Lahore city, t measure the stress level of the faculty of private sector business institutions of Lahore City and to look for the impact of stress on the faculty of private sector business institutions of Lahore City. For the purpose, first instrument with five questions, to modify the 'Social Readjustment Rating Scale' developed by Homes and Rahe (1967) was developed and after having opinions of 17 concerned experts, the 'Social Readjustment Rating Scale ' was modified according to Eastern Culture to be used in the present Study. Using the modified 'Social Readjustment Rating Scale' the 2nd instrument was developed and was used to measure the level of stress and to have study the impact of stress on the working of the faculty.
