More DescriptionA young athlete's career is ruined by abuse from his coach and indifference from his family. Years later, he has an opportunity to testify against the coach in court...but does he have the courage to speak the truth?
FAULT is the story of Michael Attwood, a gifted teen tennis player now living in squalor and afraid to interact with other people. He hasn't had any sort of close relationship since his coach abused him, and he frequently contemplates suicide. He lives in another city, under another name, and hasn't seen his parents or his younger brother in ten years. He is broken and angry and blames himself for what his life has become.
When the coach is arrested for abusing another athlete, a district attorney requests that Michael give a deposition about the horrors of his childhood. Michael has to return to his hometown, deal with his family, and face the man who ruined his life. He fails. Too intimidated by the coach's presence, he says that nothing happened. But when the case is thrown out on a technicality, Michael has to summon his courage and testify again.
