More DescriptionTitle, subtitle, and authorship Overview of the manuscript (subject, scope, organization, voice, and style)I decided to make my materials into a textbook for 9th grade entitled First People-Red People History. My main focus was on how tribal history affected the tribes removed to Oklahoma. Essentially the tribes located to Indian Territory were from across the nation and the intent to make a tribal ghetto for all tribal peoples. There was an attempt to propose removal of Arizona Tribes to Indian Territory. I have written the first draft of Chapters 1 - 16 with Section 1 and 2 being written. Section 3 of each chapter will focus on the specific tribes. Section 4 of each chapter may expand to contain contemporary historical biographies of tribal peoples. Wes Studi, Will Sampson, Sherman Alexie etc.. Significance of the manuscript (contribution to the field, why the book is needed, enduring appeal, timeliness)This textbook is desperately needed. There are no textbooks for teaching First People-Red People's history. Without a textbook the history will not be taught. I have utilized four books to develop this Textbook. The primary being Angie Debo's A History of the Indians of the United States, The Native American Almanac by Yvonne Dennis, Arlese Hirschfelder, and Shannon Flynn, Indian Givers by Jack Weatherford, An Indigenous Peoples History of the United States by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, and the Reference Library of Native North America, edited by Duane Champagne. In addition I have utilized JSTOR and Ebscohost to download more historical articles related to the Chapters.
