More DescriptionIslam is one of the major religions of the world. It was born approximately 1,400 years ago in Saudi Arabia. Islam is a universal religion; however, it has carried some of the outdated Bedouin customs and traditions of 1,400 years ago to present-day Islam. Those customs and traditions perhaps were normal back then for the specific group of people the religion was sent for, but not today. Those customs and traditions are neither acceptable nor applicable for people of different cultures today. We Muslims have some social and cultural problems that have not been created by the outsiders or the superpowers. They were created by us. One of the reasons Muslims have not been able to advance socially and culturally with the rest of the world is because we follow those outdated traditions and customs of the Bedouins of Arabia from 1,400 years ago. Those customs have been preached along with the religion of Islam by the Islamic imams, mullahs, and muftis. They all follow the same tradition, maintaining the status quo generation after generation, for hundreds of years, which has led to downfall of Muslims around the world. For me there is no question of whether women should be allowed to drive or not, if a woman can enter a stadium to watch sports or not, or with which foot I should enter the bathroom! It is time for Muslims to think outside the box and cleanse this religion of God from its Bedouin customs and make the religion of Islam a universal religion. In this book, we will begin by going over the fundamentals of Islam, and then we will discuss some of the problems and unsuitable customs that have found their way into Islam. We will explore how one can reform from within and enjoy practicing a "better Islam."
