More DescriptionThis Dramaterials(tm) Elementary School Play Kit presents a mythological morality comedy and unforgettable learning about the Greek gods. The play also acts as a springboard for the discussion of personal and societal values. Something is amiss on Mt. Olympus and Zeus is so mad he's throwing thunderbolts! Calling a meeting of all of the Greek gods, he demands to know why no one believes in them anymore. To find out, the pantheon is commanded to go down to New York City, live among the humans and find out the answer. Trouble begins as Demeter (Goddess of the Harvest) gets lost in the green market, Aphrodite (Goddess of Beauty) gets picked up by a modeling agency and Ares (God of War) ends up playing laser tag in midtown...and that's just three of them! Play includes 3 songs and a duet with lyrics, lead sheets and CD with vocals and instrumental tracks. Performance runs about 60-70 minutes starring 50 (plus or minus) 5-6th Graders. Retail-labeled, protective "Director's" 3-ring case binder holds easy-to-copy, professional script for full performance or read-throughs, Staging, Props and Costuming Notes from the playwright, January M. Akselrad, a Theater Unit Checklist and list of aligned Common Core State Standards. A Cast List is included with blanks for students' names.
