"No, I mean I said hi to her, then I left." Megan was so confused she was not sure what to think.
"She upset Alexandra so bad that it took me two hours to get her to talk to me." Scott said and Megan was so confused. "She just had to mention to my niece that she was sorry to hear about her mother and her father."
"I never said a word to her about that." Megan had not even told her own family, because she did not think it was her place to tell it. Megan felt the color drain from her face.
"Well someone told her and you are the only one that I have ever told about it." Scott had every right to be upset but he was upset with the wrong person.
"I would never do that to you or Alex." Megan could tell that his mind was made up. It was in his eyes. She felt the tears welling up in her own eyes but kept them back. "Is Alex okay?"
"Do not act like you care about her now." The cold way he spoke to her made her shudder. This was not the Scott that she was used to. She did not like this man at all.
"I do care about her, Scott, and I care about you." She wanted him to know that even if he did not believe it.
"You have a strange way of showing it." There was no way she was going to be able to convince him that she had not done it.
"I am sorry that you feel this way. I did not tell her or anyone what you told me." The tears were not going to be stopped. She felt them roll down her cheeks.
"I could have believed it about anybody but you." There was something in his tone. She could almost believe that he was hurt by his belief in her betrayal. Her heart twisted in her chest.
"I did not do it." She could not stand there and face him a moment longer.
