More DescriptionThis book is a family Haggadah and for use at a Passover Seder. Haggadah translates to mean, "telling." The Haggadah tells the story of the Jewish people's exodus from Egypt. The Haggadah also instructs the reader on the rules and rituals of Passover and the Passover Seder.
The title, "From Generation to Generation: A Family Haggadah", was created as a compliment to the biblical directive "and you shall explain to your children on that day, 'it is what God did for me when I went free from Egypt.'" (Ex. 12:8). The picture on the cover depicts several generations sitting together at a Passover Seder as their ancestors watch over them.
It is distinctive in many ways. It is full of original colorful cartoon-like illustrations that are captivating to both children and adults. Furthermore, it is unique as it becomes interactive for children by asking them to go on a "hunt" to find hidden matzahs throughout the book.
However, the most distinctive and exceptional element of this Haggadah is that it has two variations. It can be used for an adult-centered Seder with the Exodus story closely following the biblical account or, alternately, it can be used for a child-centered Seder. The reader is given a clear map as to how to proceed with either type Seder.
This Haggadah follows the specific order of a traditional Seder. In addition to the traditional parts of a Haggadah, there are ideas for new ways of celebrating the Passover holiday, a Seder checklist, a description of preparing the house for Passover, and even a charoset recipe.
Finally, this Haggadah makes the Seder both fun and educational. All Hebrew prayers and songs are in Hebrew, English and are transliterated. Favorite songs, including Da'yanu, Ayleeyahu Hanavee, Adeer Hu, Echad Mee Yoday'a and Chad Gadya are also included.
