Michael struggles to console his girlfriend, Emily Morgan, a spirit vessel in denial who refuses to accept and mourn the loss of her father and is also vulnerable to body invasion after the Feyk, Sir Tinkham Sickereaux, stole her protection ring; the only thing blocking spirits from taking over her body. Charlie, as usual, is holding the family together to his own detriment while undertaking the most difficult personal mission of his entire life: romancing Lizzy Deane. Something the werewolf has never done before, his previous relationships convenient and one-minded: fun, with no long term attachments.
