More DescriptionA modern-day account of a Genie discovered by Patsy Miller in an heirloom vase handed down to her through the family. The genie named Adiim was banished to the vase thousands of years ago because of the pain he caused to a King's granddaughter, the Princess Akilah. He has lived a lonely life in cramped conditions and suffered for thousands of years. The vase was passed on through the family to every second generation, until eventually the Genie became nothing more than a family story. Patsy's highly intelligent cat Willam, sensed the presence of the genie and attempted to communicate with him. This drew attention to his plight and Patsy, aided by her Grandmother Margaret, worked together to find a way to release him from his prison. Patsy works in a laboratory, mapping human DNA and she attempts to gather a sample from Adiim to better understand him and with the hope of finding a way to release him. GIIN DNA proves to have incredible properties that enable sick and depleted cells to regenerate. The genie cells provide a possibility of curing even the worst diseases and more startlingly, a way to rejuvenate human beings. The DNA sample accidentally falls into the wrong hands and powerful agencies begin an aggressive search to discover its origins. In the meantime, Patsy accidentally stumbles upon the release mechanism for the genie and is forced to flee, along with close members of her family as they try to protect Adiim from those who would exploit him. Patsy, Adiim, Willam and the family embark upon a long journey as they try to avoid being captured by several aggressive and powerful agencies. It leads them across the world and generates exciting and sometimes frightening experiences as they and the genie adapt to a new and ever-evolving lifestyle. Along the way, the family increases and they find ways to make money using Genie magic without detection. In the process, they amass a great fortune and eventually find what they hope will be a safe haven. Even then they are not entirely free from their pursuers and find themselves continually having to ward off the wrong type of attention. The story is full of intense emotions ranging from despair to hope, frustration, happiness and love and also contains humour, romance, fantasy, intrigue, action and of course, magic.
