More DescriptionDr. Dawidowicz has gained a reputation as a systems researcher, systems thinker, and research methods guru. As such, she spends much of her time examining what research methods work best in any given situation. Having conducted a full research agenda herself, she has gained valuable insights into how to adapt qualitative methods to accomplish needed goals. In this book, Dr. Dawidowicz introduces a hybrid of various experiential and research methods using a text she developed after completing a Grounded Ethnohistoriographic study in one urban New England school district. Using the results of that study as the basis for her Dramatic Exploration, she allows participants to experience and build on the attitudes and perceptions of students and teachers researched to increase their understanding of the circumstances of others, increase dialogue regarding underlying social issues and potential solutions, and allow for additional research on people's responses to social issues. Designed to be used by others and as a groundwork for future intervention or experiential study designs, Dr. Dawidowicz hopes her work will be used. All she asks is that she be contacted with information about how it was used and the results at pauladawidowicz@att.net so that the dialogue she hopes will occur can continue.
