More DescriptionBy definition, a glitch represents a malfunction or irregularity in time and space. Comparatively, it also represents the fragmented, and usually unseen, aspect between what is perfect and what is imperfect. Glitch is based on the practice of using digital errors, either by corrupting digital data or by physically manipulating the image. This occurs by capturing the image as it exists and then intentionally applying different techniques in post-production. Fashion plays a vital role in my photography. In creating this book, I wanted to contrast what is common to the eye and what is uncanny. Traditionally, fashion photographers have been obsessed with creating images that are seamlessly perfect, with the notion that something so beautiful needs to remain flawless. Glitch challenges this idea of perfection with the introduction of temporary flaws or imperfections. It takes what would normally be considered a beautiful fashion photograph and alters the final version in order to show the image in a new and unexpected way.
