The boy in the story goes through different stages of grief, from denial, bargaining, and blame to acceptance. After my grandfather's passing, I had a computer sales job that was near my grandmother's house. Each day I would walk to her house for lunch and enjoy her cooking, including her delicious miso soup. These visits were a comfort for me (and surely the same for grandma), and it is my hope that those struggling with a loss or grief are encouraged by this book.
