Frank Vincent was born in North Adams, Massachusetts in 1937. He started his show business career as a drummer. He played in nightclubs and on recordings with the singers Paul Anka and Trini Lopez. In 1979, he made his film debut in The Death Collector. He became a character actor in film and television for four decades. He appeared in numerous films including Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Do the Right Thing, Jungle Fever, and Casino. He joined the cast of The Sopranos in 2004 as crime boss Phil Leotardo and appeared in more than 30 episodes. His book, A Guy's Guide to Being a Man's Man written with Steven Prigge, was published in 2006. He died on September 13, 2017 at the age of 80.
