And when it is time to populate the formal admissions list, this table ensures that all information on your fingertips. With the ever-increasing pressure on Emergency Departments, it is very possible for a medical professional to miss things and it is only wise to create and use all tools and methods we can to ensure patient safety. This table also helps the on call doctor to ask the right questions to the person who is referring the patient to him/her. In future if our systems move to centralized electronic data capture methods, this table could even be used to replace the admissions list, hence increasing efficiency.
