One story of the latter kind concerns the ill-fated ship the Martha Dunn and her devoted captain, William Benedict. It tells of the ghostly ship's revenge when a gang of wreckers killed both captain and crew as they sailed into the Mersey one dark, fog-bound night. Another creepy tale which came out of Tom's researches, took place in Wales in the 1970s.
