More Description"he/HIM/his" is a teaching memoir created to bring awareness to other seniors regarding the internet rampage of "stalkers, scammers and catfishers." 5.8 Billion persons reportedly were scammed in 2021 alone. The fall of 2020 I met someone on Instagram who was impersonating a well-known singer songwriter. the imposter was real. I use italicized lower case font throughout the book to clearly differentiate him from the real person-HIM. According to our local police, and the private investigator who was involved, he was skilled at what he did. For five weeks, I was 'courted' via the web. I opened my heart to someone who was setting me up to be scammed. he was believable down to the very last minute that he wasn't! As a writer, I knew putting it all down on paper would help my heart heal. Can you imagine thinking you were going to spend the last chapter of your life with someone and then realizing they were a completely different person and a criminal to boot? The memories haunted me. I knew I had to share my experience so others could avoid the fear, the sleepless nights, and the PTSD I experienced. "You are the woman of my dreams," became could you send just me $1,000.00?. "he/HIM/his" is a powerful story sprinkled with lots of poetry, some laughter, some anger, and some tears. Walk with me as life unfolds into a journey of believing I was falling in love, to terror, and knowing I had the courage to share the story with the world. Sometimes a dream becomes a nightmare. Please don't let that be you. This book offers Tools to help open your eyes, sooner than I did. As well as guidance and steps to take if you think you may be caught in a web. There is also a "Call to Action" list of resources if you need help. Love yourself enough to ask. I met some brilliant people on this journey who had similar experiences to mine. We may all be human and scammers are evil!
