Christopher Shannon works in the Motion Picture Department of the George Eastman House, International Museum of Photography & Film. He received his Ph.D. from Yale University & has taught American history at Yale & the University of Iowa. He is the author of "Conspicuous Criticism: Tradition, the Individual, & Culture in American Social Thought, from Veblen to Mills" (Johns Hopkins University Press, 1996.) He lives in Rochester, New York.
