Home Life in Tokyo: The purpose of this work is to provide a concise overview of our daily lives in Tokyo. I am aware that there are many excellent works on Japan that can be read with great benefit; however, because their authors are mostly Europeans or Americans, and naturally look at Japanese life and civilization from an occidental perspective, it occurred to me that, despite the abundance of books on Japan, a description of Japanese life by a native of the country might not be as useful. I believe this is the first time such a task has been performed by a Japanese, because the books in English that I have seen published by my countrymen so far have dealt with esoteric issues and do not deign to touch on such mundane subjects as are discussed here. This is an excellent story that you should read.
