More DescriptionThis book contains prayer services from the day of the waving of the Omer, through the 49 days of the counting of the Omer, culminating in the pilgrimage festival of Shavuot - the Festival of Weeks or First-Fruits. In the Talmidi Israelite tradition, the Festival of Weeks is a festival which celebrates the Covenant, and the covenantal relationship between God and Israel. Therefore, the seven weeks between the waving of the Omer, and the day of the festival itself, are spent recalling the seven parts of the Covenant. Although the services are designed for the home, they contain descriptions of the Temple services of ancient times, so that one can take one's mind back in spirit to visit the holiness of the Temple in Jerusalem. They include meditations on the incense service on the golden altar, the menorah service, and for Sabbaths, there is a description and meditation on the Showbread service.
