After beating alcoholism herself, she wrote Day by Day, a bestselling meditation book for recovering addicts, and Young, Sober and Free, targeted specifically to young adults. She has a thriving consulting practice and gives frequent workshops and lectures across the country. The co-founder of two recovery centers, Denver's Hand of Hope and the Cortez Community Mission of Four Corners.
She lives in Richmond, Virginia.
