Lilly did not like the quiet at the table. It was just something that she was not used to. Sure it had driven Greg insane, because he said she talked to much, but it helped. More DescriptionLilly did not like the quiet at the table. It was just something that she was not used to. Sure it had driven Greg insane, because he said she talked to much, but it helped. Especially when she felt nervous, which for some odd reason she was a ball of nerves at the moment.
"What is the craziest thing you have ever done?" Lilly asked him across the table. He was seated directly across from her. Every time she moved her foot she brushed his leg. His feet were resting between her own, because his legs were so dang long.
"I bought all the cookies the Girl Scouts were selling once." He admitted and she rolled her eyes at that.
"Oh wow, that is crazy. Did you get arrested?" Lilly joked because that was so tame compared to some of the things that she had done.
"I did it so Julie would have lunch with me." When he met her eyes she saw a bit of regret or hurt there. She could not be sure which one it was.
"Oh." There she was again. Well she guessed when one was hung up on someone else they would continue to invade the thoughts."She was helping them out. She is very giving you know." Well no she did not know, because she did not know the woman. Lilly only shook her head side to side.
"Yeah, she helped out at the mission and she does a lot for charity work. She runs the committee on bullying for the local schools. She is determined to make a difference in this world." Brad's words held nothing but love and respect when he talked about that woman. It was hard to not like her, but Lilly was trying.
"A modern day Mother Theresa." Lilly said before looking down at her plate. She only had one reason to not like Julie, and he was sitting in front of her.
"That is not nice. She does a lot of good." It was very clear that he was still very much in love with Julie.
"I am sorry, I was just trying to find a reason not to like her." Lilly admitted as her eyes returned to his. She saw his lips purse and his jaw clench.
"Why would you not want to like her?" He asked and she would almost bet her life savings that was not what he wanted to say. The gentleman in him kept him from telling her off.
"She is hurting you." There she said it. Let him take that any way he wanted to. At least she had it out in the open.
"I am a big boy, I can take it." She had to nod her agreement at that.
"You are definitely a big boy. How big are you?" She realized how that sounded when his lips curled up into a smile.
"That is not what I meant." She tried but it was obvious he was going to have fun with it.
"Do you want to find out?" He asked and she swallowed hard on that question. Yes if she were being honest she would like to find out.
