More DescriptionThis is a unique research book on quality maintenance and skill development which goes into the deep within the facts pertaining to maintenance. We are supposed to face so many hindrances as a routine practice but we are not having any institution to look into the matter honestly. Besides, there is no book on this subject to advocate the sufferers logically. This creation is an effort to fulfill the need related to maintenance systems. This context narrates not only these hurdles but suggests remedial measures too, providing guidelines to move forward to have better qualitative maintenance. It is a common practice that the problems pertaining to maintenance are mainly considered an economical and/ or infrastructural. This is a conventional method which doesn't take the behavioral hindrances into account. This book states so many direct and hidden hurdles which affect the maintenance procedures suggesting ways to overcome up all these in a harmony. This way this research book reviews more than seventy 'Hurdles' in detail with practical illustrations to have a transparent analysis of the subject. Quality is the absolute truth. Nobody can grant absolute quality under relative circumstances but maximum qualitative performance may be ensured by means of continuous honest efforts by solving the problems in maintenance. Although we have got TPM Club, India, Bangalore which analyses the circumstances related to production units & suggests ways to make production more practical & beneficial but Indian Railways has no such institution to analyze the ground situations related to maintenance system as a subject fearlessly. This book goes into the deep within the facts pertaining to maintenance. It will help to solve the psycho-technical problems created due to conflicts of powers between employers & employees related directly or indirectly with production & maintenance. Some facts may feel a little bitter but it will prove useful if focused and interpreted honestly. If someone is eager and heartedly interested to solve the Problems, a transparent analysis is required. But I am sorry to say that in our administrative system (especially at present) a few can dare to be transparent. Ground conditions are either ignored or hidden from senior officers with a view to keep them with a lesser burden or to keep oneself praiseworthy. If someone tries to swim against the flow, he suffers for his dedicated deeds. I would like to clarify that this effort is made with a pious attitude & hurdles are viewed in a broad spectrum of national interest. Suggestions are invited for making this effort more practical to have quality maintenance without hindering the ultimate goal of safety, punctuality, comfort & economy.
