Anne Wiazemsky was born in Berlin, Germany on May 14, 1947. At the age of 17, she was cast in Au Hasard Balthazar. She appeared in several other films including La Chinoise, Sympathy for the Devil, and Teorema (Theorem). She married director Jean-Luc Godard while appearing in one of his movies. They divorced in 1979. She went on to direct several documentaries for television.
She also wrote memoirs and novels. Her memoirs included Jeune Fille and her novels included A Studious Year and One Year After, which was adapted into the film Le Redoubtable. She died of cancer on October 5, 2017 at the age of 70.
