More DescriptionThis one is for the U.S. Army Veterans, as well as those who have served in the four other U.S. Military Branches: Marines, Airforce, Navy, and Coast Guard. ??This is also for the spouses and widows of veterans, and the children of veterans who are victims suffering from post-war PTSD, poverty, institutionalization, and other traumas faced in the land of the forgotten soldiers. WE see you, and WE know your pain. Thank you for your service. Meet US Army Veteran (With Honorable Discharge) David-Nero Mailey, a young man who once served his country, only to be honorably discharged with no home to go to. Life to take a turn for the worse when he returned home to find out his mother had died from poor health. This is the moment his sanity went in question. By the age of 21, his young adult life went from being a soldier to being placed in a mental institution and deemed homeless for over a decade. Due to him being placed in an unjust system and deemed unemployable, Mr. Mailey became a product of the bias post civil-rights laws placed by a mixture of good and bad legislation. Trapped in an urban maze on Chicago's South Side during the Civil Rights, Vietnam, and post President Reagan Era, Mr. Mailey kept journals and artwork detailing his thoughts and life stories. Some of these journals were poetries, and he later shared them with several libraries, magazines, and schools - most noticeably the University of Chicago and the Right On! Magazine. He also completed a writing project for DuSable High School in 1975 as a student. Brief Autobiography:David Nero Mailey was born to an African-American and Native-American born to his earthly father John Billy Mailey, and his loving BlackFoot mother, Clara Ida Mae Nero. He was the youngest of eleven siblings, and is apart of the first generation of children born from the migrators of the south after the civil war. Readers will be intrigued by the rhythm and artistry of this historical masterpiece of drawings, poetry, and memoirs.
