More DescriptionThe Construction Planning and Execution Course presents definable features of work, standard divisions of construction, and three-phased construction quality management concepts as the basic tools to effectively manage projects developed by the DPW Engineer Division. Job Order Contracting is used to focus the flow of a project and the development of a standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for special contracting methods. The class will develop an SOP covering project planning, design, and construction using the development, issuance, delivery and acceptance of a fixed price Job Order Contract (JOC) task order. The collaborative nature of the JOC encourages Government (engineering and contracting) and contractor cooperation. The intent of the workshop is to develop recommendations for improving this collaboration and construction project management and quality.
