Possibly seems to be rushing the books as they've lost a smidge of depth the Hero & Darkness timeline had. A few less classic book & "movie references tho Bud in this series wouldn't know them to be fair. I personally reckon its lost a bit of the interesting spiritual warrior feel of the earlier books. Personally I'm hoping Buds new command Long Water has a new AI character that develops with Bud. Maybe from scratch. Whatever I still eagerly await new instalments and as usual go...

Tim, It might pay to do a mage time jump back using your sonic screwdriver & revisit the past regarding your previous work.
