In this book an ordinary boy crosses paths with one such thing and his world will never have the light it once had. Cameron is a freshman in high school, bored with his plain, suburban life. He's taken up a fascination with the occult and supernatural, as many young adults do. This fascination leads him to follow up on a wild rumor that one of his classmates is dabbling in black magic and is performing rituals in his basement. But what begins as harmless curiosity turns into abject horror and dread as visceral nightmares begin to plague him incessantly. His sanity deteriorates as he is constantly challenged by forces greater and more evil than he could ever comprehend. Cameron finds himself on a dark road veering off into the abyss and he's not sure if anyone can stop him, or what's to come.
