Section Two, Schematic Design, addresses building form and envelope design with emphasis on early consideration of life safety, energy conservation, and roof design. It highlights the early need for systems planning and its inevitable influence on floor planning. Section Three, Design Development, takes a deeper look at critical sections, detailed envelope design, design of passive and active environmental control systems, service systems, systems coordination, and the reflected ceiling plan.
