In a broad sense, hermeneutics can be seen here as a counterbalance to analytical philosophy. Particular emphasis is also placed on the reference to antiquity as the origin of European philosophy. To honor the publication of Hans-Georg Gadamer's major work in 1960, this year's volume is dedicated to the topic a Truth and Method after Fifty Years. Die philosophische Beschaftigung mit der Hermeneutik ist langst uber die Frage nach der Textauslegung und der Methode in den Geisteswissenschaften hinausgelangt. Die Geschichtlichkeit und Interpretationsgebundenheit des Denkens wird nicht mehr nur als das spezielle Problem eines bestimmten Zweigs der Wissenschaft gesehen, sondern erscheint als Kennzeichen des Denkens uberhaupt.
