Over the past decade there have been increasing calls from successive governments for health and social care professionals to work more closely together. The purpose of the multi-professional approach to health care is to provide a seemless service for patients by working as an inter-professional team.The authors explore the issues and problems faced by health and social care professionals when working in shared learning initiatives, and offer models to help them develop a multi-professional service.
