Miles Massey (George Clooney) is a fabulously successful shyster divorce attorney. Glutted with his own good fortune, he is in search of fresh challenges when he meets multiple-divorcee Marylin Rexroth (Catherine Zeta-Jones): a hard-headed woman in pursuit of financial independence by serial matrimony. The stage is thus set for the mother of all battles of the sexes, as Miles and Marylin square off, both personally and professionally.
