More DescriptionIsland of Zarada: Quest for the Red Larimar Stone is a fast-paced, fantasy action-adventure in which a Young Warrior discovers inner strength, commitment, and her true identity in a fantastic world, replete with fairies, magik, swords, and mystical imagery. Miran is slated to become the next Sultana. Selexi, antagonist and evil daughter of the present and aging Sultana, wants her own daughter, Anay, to fill that role. She convinces Anay to challenge Miran to the throne. Miran is not sure she wants to be Sultana anyway, and even considers giving it to Anay without a fight. But something inside her compels her to rise to the challenge, albeit tentatively. Zarada is suffering a drought. The only hope against starvation are the precious red larimar stones which can only be found on the distant island of Sarona. On an amazing quest to retrieve the prized stones, Miran and Anay race each other over a dangerous sea, across treacherous lands and up a perilous summit to where the stones grow. Daemons who protect the stones, hide in their lair, waiting to kill anyone who dares to intrude. Both young warriors must work together, even forge the beginnings of a renewed friendship, to escape death. Upon returning to Zarada, Anay is once again dominated by her mother, who quells any promise of reconciliation. Because they both return with stones, the girls must prove themselves through mental, magikal, and physical combat to determine who is most fit to rule. The physical fight scene is the pinnacle of truth for Miran . She must discover her commitment to her people, find hidden strength to best her physical superior to win the crown. Meanwhile, Selexi schemes to build an army of mutant soldiers, which she will try to use to retain power in in book 2 in the series, The Kera Invasion.
