Islands of Resistance

Mario Alfonso Murillo is an assistant professor of communications at Hofstra University & teaches media classes at New York University & the Autonomous University of Asuncion in Paraguay. He is host & producer of the weekly radio program "Our Americas," a joint production of WBAI in New York & the North American Congress on Latin America (NACLA). He reports regularly for Latino USA, National Public Radio, & Monitor Radio, & has written about Latin America & the Caribbean for a number of publications, including El diario, La prensa, In These Times, Urban: The Latino Magazine, & NACLA Report on the Americas.
