More DescriptionBefore his encounter with legal authorities, Jeffrey Epstein had led a model life in many respects. Many prominent and influential people called him a close friend. Then his accusers came forward to throw him in the gutter, where he remained for the rest of his life. Whether or not he belonged there will be a matter of debate over the years.
The fact of the matter is that when he died he had not yet been convicted. The sterling principle of our legal system is that a person is innocent until he or she is found guilty.
Epstein therefore died an innocent man. This fact has come to upset a lot of people, particularly the hordes of women who had sued or intended to sue Epstein for alleged misbehavior which they said had occurred many years before he was arrested.
Those complainants had fascinating and salacious stories to tell, tales that no one could disprove since they had allegedly occurred so long ago. Sadly for them, they no longer had a target for their ire when Epstein expired. Now all they had was a corpse to contend with, and an innocent one at that.
Epstein never went to trial, so he never had a chance to defend himself. Instead he wrote this book, an autobiography to explain what he did with teenage girls and why he believed he was justified.
