More DescriptionThe nation of Asmark is teetering on the brink of destruction. Not only a destruction brought on by outside forces, but also destruction from within. King Aelbert has been a mere figurehead, a pawn of the power hungry nobles who will do anything to wrestle more power for themselves. Now he is dead, and all false sense of stability in the government is lost. On top of it all, King Aslaug of Kjellmark has been eyeing Asmark ever since King Eric, the last real King of Asmark, defeated his invasion attempt. King Aslaug knows it is only a matter of time before Asmark destroys itself and becomes an open target for his expanding empire. Through all this Esben Elov has lived a quiet, secluded life away from the turmoil of politics. Ever since his father, King Eric, was killed, Esben, once prince of Asmark, is now living the life of a lesser nobleman whose lands are ruled by a corrupt regent. However, one day Sir Garan, a knight who claims to have known Esben's father, appears and challenges what he thinks he knows about his kingdom. Esben is prompted to emerge from his seclusion and join the struggle for the throne, hoping that he, the rightful heir to the throne, might be able to save Asmark from its impending destruction. Unfortunately Esben is not the only one vying for the throne. Power-hungry King Aslaug of Kjellmark emerges, determined to extract revenge against Esben and the whole of Asmark for challenging his power. Esben is forced to jump into the struggle and abandon his reservations to save Asmark from complete and utter destruction. However King Aslaug is powerful, and will stop at nothing to gain the throne. Will Esben's self-sacrificing struggle to save his country really be enough to stop the forces of greed and revenge surrounding him?
